Mission Highlights
Adopted Schools - The PGBC continues to support Melwood Elementary and James Madison Middle schools. We distributed food and clothing to both schools during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The Board of Education for Prince George’s County recognized the PGBC for its outstanding service to the Adopt -A-School Program. 10 Thanksgiving and Christmas food and clothing packages to the Melwood Elementary and James Madison Middle schools were distributed.
Mission of Love, Inc. – Pleasant Grove Baptist Church distributed 5 bags of clothing, including coats and shoes to the Mission of Love facility in Capital Heights, MD during the months of November and December 2019. The Mission of Love, Inc. serves those who live in the Princes Georges County of Maryland and vicinity.
Bless Every Home Project – Pleasant Grove Baptist Church has identified 60
families within the community that are being prayed for daily. Additionally, Christian literature is sent out to the families. Our prayer is that the Lord send these families to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for salvation, restoration and equipping for the work of the ministry.
India is Calling
Praise the Lord for his awesome providence over the earth! Recently, the PGBC received correspondence through email from Pastor Satish Kumar, pastor in South India. Pastor Kumar landed on our church website several months ago and began studying from our online teaching materials.
He was so blessed that he reached out to thank us for how the online Bible material changed his life and helped him to educate other pastors under his leadership. Pastor Kumar is hungry to learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of the PGBC.
Since our encounter with Pastor Kumar and others in South India we have sent additional Bible teaching material to them. Additionally, the PGBC will be hosting an online leadership workshop for Pastor Kumar in the month of February 2020.
Church Planting & Revitalization
The PGBC Missionary Ministry is currently working with various Missionary Societies, including NAM and SBCV to establish a church planting and church revitalization ministry.
The PGBC is in early stages of planting its first church. Also, we are currently working with pastors in South India to enhance the churches the Lord has put under our care. Online Bible studies and leadership training will be given to the India pastors starting in February 2020. Please continue to pray for us that God will continue to open up doors and resources for our church plant and revitalization ministry to India.
